Key Club 41N/S Beach Clean-Up (Beach Boomba)

Hello Division 41 South,

The long awaited Beach Boomba is here! Beach Boomba will not be with the entire region, instead it will be with Division 41 North. The event will be from 3pm-8pm at Huntington Beach(Pacific Coast Highway and Magnolia) on August 17th. We will be located in front of Tower 7. Please compile a list of members who are interested in going and also ask your sponsoring Kiwanis if they would be interested in chaperoning. The chaperons will be provided food and reimbursement. I will be asking that each club come prepared with their own chaperons and Water Balloons because Division 41 North and South will be having a massive water balloon fight.

Please carpool as parking is $15. Admission is $5 and this includes food and festivities. Make sure you bring sunblock, beach towels, beach gear etc. There will also be a service event at the event, we will be cleaning up the beach for about 30 mins to an hour.

Before I forget, dress classy not trashy, we're cleaning up the beach, not making a mess of it. We will also be having a joint Division Council Meeting with 41 North and I will be introducing a new club to the Division 41 South Lion Pride, Santa Margarita Catholic Key Club. So try to wear your Division 41 South Spirit gear (Division T-Shirt). If you don't have a Division T-Shirt you can recieve one from our LTG Joseph Olmo for a donation of $5. (T-shirts will be from 2011-2013 Key Club Term).

To attend, we ask that you fill out this medical release form! This will allow us to have a roaring' good time. Please hop on the chance for any chaperons.

[NEWSLETTER] March Issue

Before I go on weenie-mode and get all sappy, I'd like to thank Laguna Hills High School and Capistrano Valley High School for sending in articles and visuals EVERY SINGLE MONTH for EVERY SINGLE ISSUE. You guys deserve dimsum and kbbq. I'd also like to thank Dana Hills, Aliso Niguel, and Trabuco Hills for sporadically sending in articles and visuals. And thank you Tesoro, El Toro, and San Clemente for sending in at least one article and visual. I really appreciate the effort you put into helping me compile the newsletter. It's been real.

I remember all the way back from last year around April/May or so asking Hannah how I could get more involved in Key Club since I was inactive Junior year, and she told me to apply for an Executive Assistant position. So for kicks, I applied for the Division News Editor position, and a month later, I received an email congratulating me for acquiring that position. Whut.

It may not seem like a big deal to many people like it didn't to me at first--of course I was excited--but I had no idea what Key Club had to offer outside the school clubs. I never thought that I would make new friends and build stronger bonds with people that make Key Club so much better than it seems. The thought never occurred to me. And now the term is coming to an end, an end that I did not prepare for. I'm going to miss the adventures and endeavors of being a part of Key Club on this level, and I'm going to miss working with Hannah, Austin, and Joe as well as the Division Leadership Team. Like Hannah said, "it was a good run." I am grateful for seizing this opportunity to work with and meet colorful characters and diligent lions. Thank you for the experience, and let's welcome the new term!

[MARCH DCM] Hosted by Mission Viejo, Saturday 30 March

Happy Thursday Lions!

It's a Thursday, happy *almost* Friday!!  It's Ï€ (Pi) Day, I hope you had an ever-so-sweet 3.14!  It's the official DCON Count Down... Only 1 Week Left, It's One Week Away!!  Today was a great 86° ... beach weather, I can feel it already!

But, besides the wonderful tidbits on today, the most important message is to mark on your calendar the official March DCM date!  Come Saturday 30 March, this 11th DCM will mark my LAST Division Council Meeting of the 2012-2013... but it will also mark the first DCM of the 2013-2014 term!  Division 41 South Lieutenant Governor Elect Joseph Olmo will be co-hosting this DCM with me, so you know you can expect great fun at this DCM!  Keep posted for more information regarding the DCM ... Mission Viejo is cooking up a great storm in regards to the fun to be had!

In additional news, there will be a special Prep-For-DCON Live Streaming for all those who plan to attend DCON ... as we aren't able to meet as a group there will be a special virtual meeting for all those who plan to attend!  As it will be a very important message, I'll be requesting that ALL DCON attendees participate in the virtual meeting!  Stay tuned for more information ---

This upcoming March DCM will also be a very important DCM in regards to collecting money for our Year-End Banquet!  All those who wish to get Pre-Sale price ($10) will need to present money at the March DCM; if money isn't collected this day... it'll be an extra $2 at the door!

Get ready for much fun!!

[JANUARY] DCM

Happy New Year Lions!

2013 has now begun, and the D41S Lions will be on 'the prowl for service' even more than ever before! Te celebrate the new year, LTG Hannah Tuong, and Mr. Jonathon Hong (Capo Valley Key Club President) will be hosting the [JANUARY] DCM at OLYMPIAD PARK, under the gazebo on Saturday, January 26th from 4:45pm promptly, until roughly 5:30pm (and field games after) (22760 Olympiad Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692). We apologize for the short notice of this DCM! We will be discussing past and upcoming service projects, plan for our annual Mr. Key Club pageant, and most importantly, discuss DCON. After the DCM, we're going to play "throwback" Field Games; kickball, capture the flag, etc! Everyone from our division is invited go! All new officers of the executive board are encouraged to go, so they can mingle with other officers from other clubs! This is a great event to expand your network and gain experience about the happenings in the division! Make sure that at least 3 members from each school attend! RSVP on the facebook event page [JANUARY] DCM EVENT PAGE!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or LTG Hannah Tuong!

Worldwide Report Day is back. On January 16, district coordinators around the world will call The Eliminate Project Campaign Chairman Randy DeLay to share their district's progress. Worldwide Report Day is a time for the entire district to come together and make great strides for The Eliminate Project. Our first Worldwide Report Day was a great success and this one will be too.

Here's how you can participate:

  2. Communicate updates. District coordinators will collect reports by January 11. Reach out to the campaign leaders in your area to share updates.
  3. Make your commitment. Increase your district's progress by helping the campaign team secure club coordinators, Model Clubs, 100K Clubs and Zeller Fellows.
See our progress!
